FARR 72 – 1991 – Dutch Flag – EU VAT Paid – Located in Genoa, Italy The FARR 72 “BY FARR” (NED 711), formerly known as YEOMAN XXX, is one of Bruce Farr’s most iconic racer-cruiser designs. Conceived as a true offshore racing yacht capable of delivering exceptional cruising comfort, she combines Farr Yacht Design’s renowned performance pedigree with the refined styling and interior expertise of world-famous designer Andrew Winch. Built in South Africa by Eric Bongers in 1991, a shipyard also known for constructing Whitbread Maxis, this 22-metre yacht was designed from the outset to compete successfully in major international regattas while remaining manageable for cruising with a smaller crew. Presented today in immaculate and thoroughly updated condition, she benefits from significant upgrades including a Lorima carbon mast installed in November 2021, a carbon Park Avenue boom, new rod standing rigging completed in 2021 and a B&G Hercules 5000 navigation suite installed the same year. Her deck layout has been optimised for short-handed sailing thanks to extensive hydraulic systems, including custom Lewmar winches, Navtec hydraulic vang and Harken hydraulic furling. The sail inventory includes a brand-new Doyle Fastnet mainsail and jib delivered in 2024, complemented by two North Sails A3 gennakers in excellent condition. The beautifully crafted interior features honeycomb cherry wood panels and accommodates up to seven guests in four cabins, including an aft owner’s cabin, twin guest cabins forward and an additional twin berth cabin amidships. Three bathrooms equipped with electric toilets complete the accommodation. Powered by a 110 HP Yanmar 4JH4-HTE engine installed in 2014 with approximately 1,500 operating hours, the yacht is also equipped with a Northern Lights 12 kVA generator, a Zen 50 l/h watermaker installed in 2024 and modern electronics including B&G H5000 autopilot, Zeus 2 chartplotter, B&G Broadband radar, Raymarine AIS and Iridium GO. Dutch flagged, EU VAT paid and CE exempt, this exceptional FARR 72 offers a rare opportunity to acquire a legendary maxi yacht combining racing heritage, timeless elegance and outstanding offshore capabilities.
